About Everdark

What is it about gay vampires? In this first official podcast episode, Raythe shares her love for these dark, dangerous creatures… and how they inspired her to write her most popular M/M vampire story yet.
In this second episode in our series about Ever Dark, Raythe explains how she solved the problem of having a beautiful, gothic world of vampires exist alongside the modern world, “away from the scientific method,” as she says. Being an enthusiast of vampire movies, she was well aware of how other people have attempted to solve this problem, such as Blade and Underworld.
For Ever Dark, Raythe designed 10 (well, 11) vampire “bloodlines,” each with their own magical power. To get around the Hufflepuff Problem, she made each of the bloodlines actually cool!
Ever Dark is a huge vampire romance with two gay vampire/human fledgling couples. In this video, Raythe talks about the romance between Julian, the modern human explorer, and Daemon, the ancient vampire king awoken by Julian’s blood. Though they are fated to be eternal lovers, there are difficulties that they must overcome, both separately and together, before they can fully accept one another as mate.
Ever Dark is known as an M/M vampire romance story… but the truth is, Ever Dark is much more than that. The society and world of the vampires, completely separate and very gothic, is as much a part of the story as the two human fledgling/vampire couples. In this video, Raythe talks about the vampire religion and mythology she invented, and what it means for the vampires when their mythical king, Daemon, returns in the flesh.
When Raythe first started Ever Dark, she thought Julian and Daemon would be the only main couple. NOPE! Cool scientist Christian Thorne and modern vampire rake Lord Balthazar Ravenscroft get just as much story time, and for good reason. These characters give you a different view of the vampire world, and they are just as fascinating as Julian and Daemon.
